MCC Carpet Cleaning Puts HUGR Systems to the Ultimate Test
06/07/03 -- Vetronix Sales Corp and Jaime Lazarus
their Factory Representative (http://www.vetronix.com
& JLazarus@vetronix.com)
donated their time and equipment to test emissions from various vehicles
at the Alternative Fuel Vehicle days sponsored by Clean Cities .
They challenged attendees and exhibitors to test their claims.
HUGR called on MCC Carpet Cleaning and requested both gas and HUGR
powered equipment to test side by side. Bill Murphy, the owner, was
enticed. "We're saving money and that's easy to prove, but if I'm really
helping the environment, I'd like to get an idea of how much."
The equipment mounted in the vans were both tested at idle and approximately 2000 rpm. The HUGR
equipment was powered with a 10hp Diesel, and the gas a 20hp name brand.
Bill notes that despite the difference in horsepower, the machines perform
the same.

Observers were generally shocked. The enormous difference in
hydrocarbons surprised even Bill. Jamie immediately offered advice
for lowering the values, but Bill simply stated: "I have the solution
mounted in
the HUGR powered van. I just need to finish off converting my other vans.
The second HUGR unit is in service, and in just one week it looks like we saved
approximately 40 gallons of fuel."
Normally boisterous and outspoken, everyone could see the concern on his
face. "I've been running vans like these since the late 80's; it's time
to change."
